To heal from trauma or any other negative experiences, you need to acknowledge what happened and allow yourself to feel the emotions those memories evoke. Take responsibility for how you feel now and only then can you begin your journey towards healing.
Through this process I was able to heal and recall my story as if I was reading someone else's book.
